Digital Health Innovation (DHI) delivers provincial digital health strategies and business transformations by relentlessly focusing on the end user and the end-to-end health services journey for everyone in British Columbia. We concentrate on the design and delivery of digital health tools and platforms to support the ongoing evolution of a connected health system and digitally enabled health care. By collaborating with all provincial health sector partners, we ensure an equitable approach to addressing health sector priorities.

DHI is part of the Provincial Digital Health & Information Services (PDHIS) portfolio that was formed in July 2022 to enable our BC health system more effectively digitally and virtually. PDHIS brings together many organizational units from different parts of PHSA into one portfolio and includes a close partnership with the Ministry of Health to deliver on the BC Digital Health Strategy.

Requirements

The Senior Salesforce Release Manager designs, develops, implements, and manages the procedures including (but not limited to) documentation standards, coding standards, release management processes, naming conventions, source control and, most important, deployments. Should be comfortable with Agile DevOps practice and governance, as well as communicating, prioritizing, and managing all aspects of the Salesforce platform at an enterprise scale. The ideal candidate will be happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms, clearly explaining desig options and their potential impact.


This is a balanced technical and business-facing role, with the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Release and Change Management processing across

    multiple Development Teams from product inception to sustainment mode

  • Define DevOps and Environment Management Best Practices for across for Salesforce platform Go-Live and scheduled releases

  • Collaborate across multiple streams to identify potential impacts and dependencies to help mitigate critical issues

  • Lead reference team meetings related to new releases

  • Plan the deployment of the changes, a process that can vary immensely in scope

    and includes reviews at key interim milestones

  • Work with operations management during production migration

  • Conducting a post-implementation process that reviews whether the change

    has achieved the goals that were established for it and determines whether to

    keep the change or back it out.

  • Responsible for source and version control tools including their use, function,

    processes, and procedures

  • Confirmation that what is tested is migrated to production

  • Agrees scope of the items that are to be controlled and deployed

  • Ensures that changes to the configuration management methods and processes

    are properly approved and communicated

  • Implements the change management plan, following defined processes and

    appropriate procedures

  • Manages and communicates all changes that have upstream and downstream k

    impact to appropriate stakeholders

  • Plans the deployment of the changes, a process that can vary immensely in

    scope and includes reviews at key interim milestones

  • Collaboration And Coordination: Communicate with Project Teams, Project

  • Managers, and Functional Release Managers to understand the demand,

    prepare landscape and setup sandboxes to support the release process.

  • Providing leadership, take control of the management and coordination of the

    deployment process.

  • Supporting/Planning project cutovers and oversee deployments: Manage

    releases according to the organization standards and adhere to timelines.

  • Ensure appropriate resources are available and communicate deployment

    status as necessary.

  • Subject Matter Expert for the release management tools: As an expert on the

    use of these tools, you must provide leadership to support, training of other

    team members, resolving issues in the deployment of their releases/project

    streams.

  • Mitigating Risk: Identify risks during code merging and ensure the quality of

    code released into production and should conduct release reviews, should

    facilitated decision on GoLive of releases

  • Salesforce Platform Knowledge: Must be proficient in refreshing a sandbox,

    must know how to package and deploy metadata components, knowledge on

    release branching strategies, code merging and should have worked on conflict

    resolution strategies.
