About the Role

The PHSA Regional Digital Solutions team is responsible for supporting IT system solutions that deliver the safe and consistent patient care across three British Columbia health organizations: Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Providence Health Care (PHC). As a team, we continually strive to improve patient safety and improve information system reliability and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Significant prior experience writing design and requirements for middleware team such a MS BizTalk.

  • Significant prior experience with data exchange with specific experience with transfer and transformation of healthcare data using HL7 across the spectrum of message types.

  • Strong understanding of Clinical Information Systems and Electronic Medical Records software and prior experience with Cerner application and modules suite (RadNET, PowerChart, Patient Management, etc..), the Cerner Millennium database, and Foreign System Interfaces. Cerner Millennium 2018 code level

    expertise is optimal.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to elicit and translate business and clinical needs into interface

  • requirements.

  • Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret interface specifications,

  • workflows, and accurately identify the source of issues through complex patterns.


  • The successful candidate will have an understanding of the following services with demonstrated expertise

  • with integrating clinical systems for a minimum of three of the following domains: Patient Registration and

  • EMPI, Provider Identity Management and Location Registry, Clinical Orders and Results, Scheduling, Clinical

    Document Distribution, Medical Imaging, and Financial Systems
